More than 100 years after the first explorers and pioneers reached the Antarctic, Fabian Dattner, together with a small band of collaborators, pioneered their own leadership journey to the world’s most desolate continent with 76 women with a STEMM background from around the world.
The Leadership tells the story of this inspiring, and sometimes deeply confronting journey.

The Leadership, a potent, passionate documentary looks at one of the most courageous leadership journeys in modern history: Homeward Bound. Breathtakingly captured, in front of a dramatic Antarctic backdrop, the film tracks the first Homeward Bound journey, from inception to conclusion, and endeavours to explore why women aren’t leading.
Following on from that inaugural voyage, Homeward Bound has evolved and improved significantly. It is now five years old and continues to break waves across the globe. 200 volunteers (including Fabian as volunteer CEO) have worked tirelessly to ensure this important leadership initiative has grown ten-fold and is tackling the world’s greatest existential problem – leadership and the health of our planet.
The foundations of Homeward Bound were born right here at Dattner Group,
a consultancy dedicated to changing the narrative of leadership, for the greater good.
